Man Cave Decor

Man Cave Decor

If you haven’t had time, or don’t have enough space, to build your very own testosterzone, here are a few man cave decor ideas to make any room feel a bit more masculine.

Empty keg bar stools are a great way to recycle and have an excuse to order kegs. Head over to Target, Pier 1 or Bed Bath and Beyond for barstool cushions. After it’s tapped, clean off the keg and remove the tap. Cushion the empty space inside the keg with foam, polyester or other cushion stuffing materials in order to make it more comfortable, throw your cushion on top, and voila!

Get creative with sinks by reusing old garage staples or car parts. You can build a sink into the top of an old metal tool chest, or use an old cleaned tire around your circular sink. This will definitely exercise that plumber muscle, so if you don’t have one or it’s atrophied over the years, call up a professional to help you out with this piece of man cave decor.

Since we’re in the bathroom, why not trade out that flowered plastic tub of hand soap for something more man-friendly? You can use an old beer or libation bottle as a soap dispenser. Find them online at ebay in the $20 range or make one yourself. Simply purchase a bottle of your favorite libation, buy a bottle of soap with a nice, preferably metal pump, transfer the soap and screw on the pump (after the other bottle is empty, of course).

Have an old car engine lying around? If not, head to the nearest salvage/junk yard to pick one up so you too can have a car engine coffee table. Once you’ve acquired your old engine, clean it up so it’s sparkling, buy a piece of glass the size desired for your table, and put it on top! It’s that easy, and looks great.

fishing pole

Are you a fisherman? Incorporate your favorite sport into your man space by using an old fishing pole as a picture hanger. For this project you’ll need figure 8 connectors, eye hooks and fishing wire or strong twine (buy one connector and one eye hook for every picture you want to hang). Drill small holes in the tops of your picture frames and insert eye hooks. Next, place the figure 8 connectors on the parts of the pole you want to hang your pictures from and tie them to the pole. Thread the twine through the eye hooks, tie to the connectors and you’re done!

Want to lay down the Man Cave Rules? Use chalk paint on a part of a wall (or a whole wall if you have a lot of rules) and let everyone know what they’re getting themselves into by entering your den.
